How to Setup Automatic Clock-Out

Automatic Clock-Out After a Specified Time with Minimum Clock-In

Kala allows you to configure an extension that automatically clocks out employees after a specified time, provided they have been clocked in for a predetermined number of hours.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Connections and Services
  2. Choose Add Connection
    • Scroll down and find Automatic Clock-Out After a Specified Time with Minimum Clock-In
    • Fill out the required fields and click Continue

During setup, you need to specify the following:

  • Number of hours required to be clocked in before automatic clock-out occurs.
  • A specific time of day for automatic clock-out if it hasn’t already been done manually.
  • The number of hours to round down to during automatic clock-out.

The most common setup looks like this, but you can adjust them to best suit your organization’s needs:

  • Hours clocked in = 0:00
  • Clock-out time = 23:59
  • Hours rounded down to = 0:00 (will take the amount of hours the employee has been clogged in)

This configuration ensures that clock-out happens at the end of the day. The time interval from clock-in will stand out clearly on the employee’s weekly timesheet, making it easy to identify if someone forgot to clock out.

Finally, you can enable a field at the bottom that specifies whether an email notification should be sent upon automatic clock-out. If this option is selected, your company’s designated accounting email in Kala will be notified that an automatic clock-out has taken place.
