How to Assign New Key Fobs to Employees on Kala’s Terminal

Follow the guide video below to reassign key fobs to your employees.

When you receive a terminal setup from Kala, we provide multiple blue fobs so you can easily replace them if any go missing. Follow this guide to issue a new fob for an employee.

  1. Find the Employee
    • Start by pressing the first letter of the employee’s name on the terminal screen.
      • In this example, we need to reprogram Jesper’s fob, so we press “J” to locate his profile.
  2. Authenticate with a Manager-Fob
    • To proceed, scan your Manager-Fob to verify your identity.
    • Once scanned, a list of employees matching the selected letter will appear.
    • Select Jesper from the list to access his profile.
  3. Add a New Fob
    • Click on the “Add NFC Card” icon in the top-right corner.
      • The system refers to it as a card because you can use either the provided blue fobs or any compatible NFC card that your company already uses as access cards.
  4. Authenticate Again to Reprogram the Fob
    • Since this process involves replacing a fob, scan your Manager-Fob again to confirm the action.
  5. Register the New Fob
    • The system will now prompt you to register a new fob for Jesper.
    • Take the new fob, scan it, and confirm the registration.
  6. Test the New Fob
    • Return to the main screen and scan the newly registered fob.
    • If the process was successful, you will be taken directly to Jesper’s profile, allowing him to clock in as usual.
    • That’s it! Jesper’s new fob is now activated and ready to use.
