How to Create a Kala Account

Tip: Once you’ve created your Kala Account, feel free to reach out to our team for a free, non-binding walkthrough of Kala’s features.

About Test Accounts and Kala’s Trial Period

To get started with Kala and see if it’s the right solution for your company, you can create a free test account and try Kala without limitations for 30 days. After the trial, you decide whether to continue using Kala.

You do not need to provide any billing information when signing up for your free trial. Thus, the trial period does not automatically start a subscription. You won’t be charged or receive invoices unless you explicitly choose to continue. At the end of the 30 days, you’ll see a prompt asking how you’d like to proceed.

Creating a New Account

Step 1: Visit Kala’s Homepage
On the homepage at www.kala.app, click on Get Started for Free.

Step 2: Enter Your Information
Fill in your details on the registration page. Remember your email and password, as these will be your login credentials.

Step 3: Employee Numbers
You’ll then be asked to enter your employee number.

  • If you plan to sync time tracking data with your payroll system, ensure the employee numbers in Kala match those in your payroll system.
  • If syncing isn’t necessary, or you don’t know your employee number, you can enter 1 as a placeholder. This can be updated later. Click Continue when done.

Step 4: Connect to an Accounting System (Optional)
Next, you’ll be asked if you want to link Kala to your accounting system. This helps import existing customers into Kala, so you can start creating projects directly linked to your existing customers.

  • If you want to connect now, click Connect Accounting System, select your system from the list, and follow the instructions.
  • If you prefer to explore Kala first, click Continue. You can always connect the accounting system later.

Step 5: Add Employees (Optional)
To test Kala with others or see multiple users in the planning module, you can immediately add employees.

  • Enter their name, email, and employee number, then click Create. They’ll receive an email to set up their password.
  • Alternatively, skip this step and add employees later by clicking Continue Now.

Step 6. Select Features
Decide which features to enable. The default options are pre-selected, but you can adjust them based on your needs. All settings can be changed later in the Settings menu.

Once you’ve configured these features, click Continue.

Start Using Your Kala Account

You’ll now see your Kala dashboard. You can upload a profile picture or skip this step and do it later.
