To create a new project in Kala, do the following:
- Navigate to Projects in the left-hand menu.
- Select Create New Project.
- Choose between two project types:
- Customer Project
- Internal Project
Customer Project
If you have a project for a customer, select the Customer Project type. When creating a customer project, you can either create a New customer or link the project to an Existing customer.
If Kala is connected to your accounting system, it will automatically import all your customers on an ongoing basis. Accounting systems like e-conomic, Dinero, and Billy can also accept customers added in Kala. In such cases, we recommend filling out as much customer information as possible to ensure the customer is ‘accepted’ by the accounting system, especially when fields are mandatory.
To link the project to an existing customer, select the customer from the list under Choose Customer from List.

Tip: If you already use an accounting system, we recommend connecting it with Kala. Once connected, Kala will import all your current customers, making them available for use in Kala. Learn how to connect Kala to your accounting system here.
Internal Project
An internal project is not linked to a customer but is used for tasks within the company. An example of an internal project could be Administration or Inventory Management. To create an internal project, select this project type and fill in the project details, such as name and description.

Once your project is created, you can start adding tasks to it. Read our guide on how to create tasks in Kala here.
